World-class competition. In the 2020 edition, more than 15,300 photos were submitted worldwide. The photo “A Cara de Brasília”/”Brasília’s Face” won the Gold Medal in the category ‘Brasília 60 years old’. The picture was made on June 2, 2020, portraying the city in a photo that had its face – the famous Scissors that cut the capital at various points.
Scissors are a feature of urban planning in the Federal Capital. Depending on the time of year, they gain new contours with the flowering of the various Cerrado trees that make up the city. Has anyone ever had the honor of getting lost and never finding the way out inside them?
“I don’t know if it’s like that for you, but for me, it’s the city that brings the most beautiful memories and I’m happy just thinking about its unique forms. It’s the capital that fills me with pride and homesick feelings, which saw me grow up, take care of our… family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances. Who never said that “Brasilia is an egg”? Be it an egg, be it a square, in the middle of the scissors or in doubt between the axes, one thing is certain: we love this city! Among candangos, pioneers and outsiders, we are all Brasilienses — by birth or by heart. Brasília, the most genuine inspiration!“
